Ok, my brother has just recently gotten FFXI. He also got a kb and the stategy guide. Well I was just wondering if uh he can play with you guys and where? His chars name is Seto and hes an elf guy fighter and is lv 2 last I saw him. I honestly have no idea what world hes on though. I gave him this site so he will post on here with his info sometime tonight or tommorow. My other brother might play as well using a diff char but I'm not sure. I might even play myself but not very often. Oh he didn't get the expansion disk yet he will probably get that next week.

Uh one question Yosh, if I wanted to play on Garuda too would I need another worldpass or because my bro's char is there it won't matter? I'll probably try playing either Thursday or Friday night. My chars name will be Darklighter and be a human monk. I'll probably need alot of help with a char like that lol.

btw the main chars name is Superguido, i have a bastok mining mule named Mulesmulesmules and a windurst cooking mule named Theexiledone, lol so if ya need some gil or some strength increasing foods juss lemme know ill hook ya up man. and also i like ur starting job choice lol i took monk at first too, they do some nice damage, juss be sure to keep ur weapons updated
Cool thanks man! Yeah I wanted to be a monk first and switch to a samurai or red mage later. The red mage is probably the more practical idea but I love samurai sooo I dunno. Maybe I'll just make a 2nd char eventually and go for a samurai with that one, or make the 1st one like that uhhhh I'm confused lol!! Maybe I'll go with a female monk(?) and make her a samurai and make Dark after I know what the hell I'm doing... thats prob what I'll do. a rdm job is basically the back bone of the mages. your job in the mid lvs and beyond is to refresh the blm and whm to keep their mp high. debuff and enfeeble the mobs using stuff like dispell, and doing some back up healing or mild magic bursting depending on what sub job you choose whm or blm.
monks are pretty good damage dealers. they are undead killers so they put a hurtin on skeleton type mobs. Monk is only used really as a main job,so most of the ppl who play monk use it for the whole game. you really dont see alot of ppl subbing monk for anything. they mostly use hand to hand combat skills. End game monks switch from melee and boost their mnd to do very damaging abilityc alled chi blast on god and hyper notorious type mobs (HNM)
SAM are a pretty fun job to play, they are melee of course and they are all about gaining TP and using multiple weapon strikes in a row. they are able to equip many diffrent types of weapons including pole arms, and great katana with some range attack bow ablitites. the typical sub job for sam is warrior. later on in the game its accpetable for samurais to sub ranger.samuria is the only job able to do 4 weapon strikes in a row and bascially control the damage output of the party by using multiple skill chains
i could for sure see you playing this type of char dark.i hope some of this info helps.

I was seriously debating if I should it a few months back. I need some type of hacking/rpg game in my life. But I guess the price for the game + equipment held me back. Besides, after Halo 2, I'd have to fight over who gets the tv for the night to play. lol
For now, I'm actually getting some painting done while watching/listening to my hubby get his ass owned.^_^'
I need to start making money back on all the crap I get...
Besides, I predict that he'll get bored of the game within a month. So maybe by then, I can actually play some games again.
I just wanted to post and tell everyone thx fer all yer help this weekend and that BOLTH of my little brothers got so jealous cause I was playing with people that they deleted their chars and are now on Garuda server as well. Well their names are Sojiro a hume monk guy and the other is Killer a elf hunter guy just in case you wanna help these poor lost souls out lol. I myself will be back on Thursday so cya then.
